There are thousands of attempts at bar stool design – meaning no bar stool designer has yet gotten it right. Bar stool design is a classic case of function forgotten by form. It is obvious to us, just by inspection (even more so by imperiling our posteriors), that bar stools are designed and selected for appearance – not for our comfort. Somewhere there has to be an annual international competition for ”The World’s Most Uncomfortable Bar stool.” Judges would sit designers in their own creations and observe their pained expressions to establish each bar stool’s discomfort index. A perennial winner must to be the grape-pattern cast iron bar stool: cast iron legs, cast iron seat, cast iron arms and cast iron back. It takes two people to move one of these horrors, and the discomfort index is just below ”The Iron Maiden” used in the Spanish Inquisition.
If you want a welcoming, warm space, you can add some family photos. This can be an excellent place to display some of your favorite memories, as well as add some punch to a tabletop that is commonly bare and doesn’t really have a lot of personality.
You can also put some other kitchen items you use daily, such as a rolling pin, or a food processor, on the bar, but make sure the space is still clutter-free. You can make an attractive arrangement with canisters which have breakfast cereals and dry spices as well. And, if you’re the proud owner of a coffee machine, there’s no better place to keep it on than the breakfast bar. For quick and easy access, you can add jars of creamer, sugar and other coffee-related things as well.
Another very important aspect of modern wooden bar stools is that you can paint them repeatedly whenever need arises. Often, restaurateurs change decor and fittings to revamp the look of the restaurant. In such circumstances, you do not need to worry, as you can reuse the old Wood bar and cut down the expense. Similarly, you can also paint them if you wish to have a new look.
