The lectures given at the Cargese Summer School in the summer of 1970 centered around a new approach to Lagrangian Field Theory. This approach consists of using the Pade summation technique to extract a meaningful scattering matrix out of the renormalized perturbation series, which is otherwise physically meaningless in strong interaction physics.
