About The ProductPublished by the American Geophysical Union as part of the Geophysical Monograph Series.
The Symposium was initiated by the editor with a special view toward answering fundamental environmental questions about the nature of the earth’s crust, particularly at depths below a few kilometers, and in adjacent portions of the upper mantle. Conditions at these depths have rarely been the subject of multidisciplinary study in the past.
